At MDC, some of our favorite moments happen when we close the laptop and show up in person. Our team has been out in the community doing exactly that, from laid-back morning coffee stops to festive creative workshops. These events are about more than showcasing new products; they’re about nurturing the kinds of relationships that make this industry genuinely worth celebrating.
Morning Coffee Update: Grand Rapids
The Vibe: Relaxed and Approachable
Last fall, Account Executive Rebecca Smith and a team of multi-line reps turned a local Grand Rapids coffee shop into a welcoming pit stop for the design community. The concept was beautifully simple: give designers a reason to swing by on their way to the office, explore the latest MDC collections over coffee and pastries and walk away feeling inspired rather than sold. No pressure, no hard pitch, just good product and even better conversation. Turns out the best ideas really do flow better over a good cup of joe.

Winter Porch Pot Workshop: A Seasonal Celebration
The Vibe: Creative and Sophisticated
In December, MDC brought the local design community together for a hands-on holiday workshop that felt more like a party than a product event. Set inside a festive seasonal pop-up, guests got to channel their inner maker, crafting bespoke winter planters with fresh evergreen boughs, berries and pinecones. Add seasonal cocktails and great company to that mix and you’ve got a pretty unforgettable evening of creativity and craftsmanship!

ToledoCon 2025: Innovation on Display
The Vibe: Energetic and Forward-Thinking
At the 2025 ToledoCon Vendor Fair, the MDC booth was the place to be! Account Executive Rebecca Smith and her manager Stephanie Troshynski were in full swing, connecting with designers and vendors and giving attendees a firsthand look at the newest designs and technical solutions entering the market. Fresh textures, high-performance products and a whole lot of enthusiasm; the energy was contagious.
